MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Always be sure the miter saw is disconnected from the power source
before making any adjustments or during set-up prior to cutting. Failure to disconnect or
unplug the machine may cause accidental starting, resulting in serious personal injury.
BELT REPLACEMENT (FIG 30)
The saw is powered by a belt-driven motor. Periodically check the
belt for wear and replace it when necessary.
Proceed as follows when replacement is required:
1. Unplug the saw.
2. Pull the saw head down and lock it to be in transportation
position.
3. Using Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws from the belt
cover (1). Lift the cover off the housing and set aside.
4. Loosen all 6 adjustment screws (2) by using 5mm Allen key
5. Loosen the set screw (3) on the motor housing by using 4mm
Allen key until there is enough slack in the belt (4) for it to be
removed from the pulleys.
6. Place the new belt around pulleys. (Groove turned to the
inside)
7. Retighten the set screw (3).
8 Check belt tension by squeezing the belt. Using light pressure, the belt should deflect approximately 1/4 in.
NOTE: If belt tension is not correct, adjust the set screw until tension is correct.
9. Once belt tension is correct, retighten adjustment screws.
10. Reinstall the belt cover.
CLEANING
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING: Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based
products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can
damage, weaken or destroy plastic which may result in serious personal injury.
Electric tools used on fiberglass material, wallboard, spackling compounds, or plaster are subject to accelerated
wear and possible premature failure because the fiberglass chips and grindings are highly abrasive to bearings,
brushes, commutators, etc. Consequently, we do not recommended using this tool for extended work on these
types of materials. However, if you do work with any of these materials, it is extremely important to clean the tool
using compressed air.
LUBRICATION
This tool is permanently lubricated at the factory and requires no additional lubrication.
